Lost with #MountainLion, now finally back! Switch your display settings easily – just a click in your #osx menu bar. Not sure why #apple  took it away from us and an independent developer has to bring it back.

Having connection problems with #apple  #homesharing? Research has shown, iTunes opens numerous connections when paired with an #appletv3  . As a workaround, a script was created to monitor those connections and to restart iTunes once it reaches a certain threshold.

I put the script together with a LaunchDaemon config into GitHub, for those in need for it. Hope it helps.

OS X Lion How to place Dictionary definitions higher up on Spotlight results

I finally found an answer to a question that arose with OS X Lion: How to place Dictionary definitions higher up on Spotlight results?

I was quite used to quickly open #Spotlight  via cmd-space and type in a word I needed a definition or translation for. Before #Lion   those definitions showed up at the top of Spotlight’s results list and I could reach them with a single cursor down to reveal the details. Sadly #Apple  decided to place those definitions at the bottom of Spotlight’s results, having users go through the whole list to finally reach the definition. They also decided users must not have the ability the revert to the old behavior by re-ordering Spotlight’s results in control panel – which would have been easy.

All this effectively rendered #Dictionary  useless on Lion and it still kept being useless on #MountainLion . The referenced article from StackExchange finally presents the solution to this problem. It’s easy and just gives back the power to decide by himself where to place dictionary definitions to the user.

How to place Dictionary definitions higher up in spotlight results

I used to use spotlight fairly frequently to quickly look up words in a dictionary. With Lion, I’ve noticed that my dictionary results have dropped down much lower in the list of results: I’d like to…

Well #Sony, this time you really annoyed me. I accepted that you’re too dumb to keep your network safe. I accepted that your video-on-demand service doesn’t deliver on time (it rather takes at least 4h). And I also understand that you don’t get that selling #onlinegames for a fortune doesn’t fit into times where #Apple showed up with their iGadgets that deliver far more fun than your old school stuff. But today I got #Uncharted3 and found that ‘Network Pass’ sticker on it. That makes the game actually impossible to resell. Are kiddin’ me? Damn ya Sony! You’re so #greedy! Isn’t it enough for you that I have to pay nearly double price for the same game over here in Europe? Isn’t it enough that your games always cost more than double price than any other platform? You’re not innovative anymore. You suck! I predict you will be gone in 2020 – or split into consumer electronics and music/movie businesses.
